Deep red. Vibrant aroma in nose. Blackcurrent, blackberry and jammy, with smoke, pepper and smoke, barrel note. Full body, medium acidity, juicy style. Medium-to-low soft tannin with good balance. Long finish and earth note. Although it’s a blend of Shiraz and Mataro, I think it’s a text book South Australia Shiraz. Good to drink it now, but it will still be outstanding after 5-10 years.
In blind tasting, smoke and pepper are obvious its secondary character. Heavy barrel note leads to South Australia style.
