泰晤士河岸的詩人
在前往Tate Modern的路上，我遇見了Luke。
除了與船隻工作，他也寫詩。在太陽露臉的2022/10/22午間，他坐在河畔一處空位用打字機啪嗒啪嗒的急性創作，他的折疊小桌前貼著一張手寫海報：「一首詩的價碼隨意打賞」。我多麼喜歡詩歌，於是停下來請他寫詩。他先問我想到哪些字詞，現在我有點忘記了，依稀應是是馬匹、奇幻、海洋、沙漠這四個關鍵字，然後他的雙手飛快、思緒如鷹，就開始啪嗒啪嗒打起字來，不到五分鐘後我獲得一首詩。
我們聊了一下我們各自的的家鄉，乍看之下貌似Mr. White的Luke來自倫敦，他說就是喜歡寫詩、在河畔也有機會吸取太陽、河水的味道與新鮮空氣，還有川流入耳的遊客、居民來往的聲響。
我花了些時間唇讀完它，詩本來無題，我請他下了一個，他在把紙張抽拉回前頭敲字時，我速速抹掉了感激與感動的欣喜淚滴。
這首詩我用十磅買下。
“ The Centaur ”
The first time, can you imagine?
The line of trust
reading out and understanding between
these two quite different lives,
woman and horse, eye looking into eye
on the great grasslands of Central Asia
where the wind moves without obstruction, journeying
thousands of miles
when horse stops
curious, drawn towards her
patient, and soft in every
movement
this is how it happened, when the
first friendship was formed
without words
without speech, with only the language of the heart
of kindness and
insight
how did she know to climb upon that back
to wrap arms around that neck
and no fear when first trotting then
into a gallop
lending her that strength and speed,
grass beneath a blur, wind in the hair, exhilarated
