There are plenty of English learning strategies, but which one suits you? Well, it depends on why you learn and what you target. ("how you can do" will be discussed in another post)
Let's talk about why you learn first. If you learn with strong motivation (no matter it's about salary or interests or other reasons), you would try to overcome the difficulties you face. Even if you cannot solve certain problems, you would not give up easily. Thus, make sure you know why you want (or have) to learn English.
What you target would influence what kind of strategy you can use. For example, if getting band 6.5+ on IELTS writing in 6 months is the goal, understanding and following the IELTS marking criteria (many candidates neglect the importance) could be the short-term primary, not just writing articles yourself without certain guidance. And if you'd like to have a talk in English in an international conference in one or two years, you may consider attending a long-term training programme.
Knowing why you learn will motivate you to move forward, and making sure what you target will keep you going in the right direction. Before start any learning activities, why not think about these issues first? : )
