One man prepared an ax and wanted to chop his enemy to death. One day he was touched by the preaching of the church pastor, so he buried his ax and decided to become a believer in the pastor.
He explained this to the curious priest, who decided to go with him to see where the ax was buried.
When they got there, the priest found the handle of the ax still exposed. It turned out that this man did not bury the whole ax he deliberately exposed the handle of the ax so that when he saw the enemy, he could quickly find the ax to avenge.
This man's act of burying the ax is purely a waste of time making excuses for himself. He thought that this would mean that he had let go of the hatred in his heart, but he did not know that in the eyes of others, his revenge thoughts were like the exposed part of the ax handle, so obvious.
The hatred in our hearts is like the armor on our bodies, when we fail to take it off, and constantly add weight to ourselves, it will only become more and more difficult to carry on the road ahead in the future.
There is a German proverb: ” The greatest revenge - the idea of forgiveness.”
Armor exists for self-breakthrough. Only by being willing to let go of resentment completely can we attain true spiritual freedom.
