Despite是什麼意思？和although的差別是？
despite和although都可以表示“儘管，雖然”的意思，但是它們有一些用法上的區別。
Despite
despite是一個介詞，後面只能接名詞、代詞或動名詞，不能接句子。例如：
• Despite the rain, we went out for a walk.
（儘管下雨，我們還是出去散步了。）
• He passed the exam despite his illness.
（他儘管生病了，還是通過了考試。）
• Despite being tired, she stayed up late to finish her homework.
（她儘管很累，還是熬夜完成了作業。）
Although
although是一個連詞，後面必須接一個完整的句子，通常用來引導讓步狀語從句。例如：
• Although it was raining, we went out for a walk.
（雖然下雨了，我們還是出去散步了。）
• He passed the exam although he was ill.
（他雖然生病了，還是通過了考試。）
• She stayed up late to finish her homework although she was tired.（她雖然很累，還是熬夜完成了作業。）
在語氣上，despite比although要輕一些，表示不在乎或不理會某種情況或困難；而although比較重一些，表示某種情況或困難對主句的內容有一定的影響或限制。
在位置上，despite通常用在句首或句中；而although可以用在句首、句中或句末。例如：
• Despite his age, he is very active.
（他儘管年紀大了，還是很活躍。）
• He is very active despite his age.
（他很活躍，儘管年紀大了。）
• Although he is old, he is very active.
（他雖然年紀大了，但是很活躍。）
• He is very active although he is old.
（他很活躍，雖然年紀大了。）
• He is old although very active.
（他年紀大了，但是很活躍。）
