出借字運動(1)：「歸懶趴火」
概述
越來越多以英語為母語的外籍人士在台定居，也同時受到台灣文化薰陶。 當中，以語言影響的範圍最為廣泛，也最容易接觸到。比如說，初從外國到這裡，可以很輕易聽到在地人，逢人就開口講「歹勢」(pháinn-sè)，或說「謝謝。」
向非母語人士介紹這些頻繁聽到的用詞時，許多人只能策略性地切換為英語，嘗試將本地的語言表達「外國化」(foreignizing)：盡量以貼近「聽者」所使用的語言，挑選對應的近義詞。
然而，這種翻譯策略往往得犧牲不同語言之間「細微的語意差異」(nuances)；細緻差異只有長期浸泡在當地語境的人，例如母語人士，才會察覺。
因此，「外國化」(foreignization)的翻譯策略──生硬地找英語當中固有的對應詞──已經不符合實際需求。
我們不應該只是被動地吸收英文詞彙，而是應該積極將本土固有的語詞逆向推廣出去，讓外籍人士借用台灣人會用的詞彙到日常對話之中。
筆者提倡「應該要直接將常聽見的詞彙，以羅馬拼音形式，直接套用進英文使用。像日語當中的sushi 【鮨（すし）】，或sayonara（さよなら），抑或是emoji 【絵文字（えもじ）】等詞彙，都是直接用羅馬拼音使用。
深受日語影響的台語，有著似乎有「出借字詞」的潛力。
以下將以「歸懶趴火」這個非常常見的語言表達，嘗試將羅馬拼音直接套進英文的句構之中。
歸懶趴火
寫作「規𡳞脬火」（kui-lān-pha-hué）
字面意思為整個陰囊充滿怒火，為「滿肚子火」的俚俗用語。常俗寫為「歸藍波火」、「歸懶趴火」、「歸LP fire」[1]
羅馬化拼音(Romanized)
Kui-lan-pha-hue/ Kuilanphahue
翻譯
(Literally) Dick’s on fire.
語意
- 當作形容詞使用，用來形容狀態：
(1). So pissed (at)/mad at
(2). Getting infuriated
(3). Getting furious
(4). Getting raged
例句：
I got kui-lan-pha-hue as you crashed my car.
「你給我車撞壞，我氣嘎歸懶趴火。」

放在名詞子句裡面使用。

放在so . . . that 的名詞子句當中使用。
使役動詞+受詞，跟在受詞之後的受詞補語，表達「慾火焚鳥」的狀態。

使役動詞放入單句。
3. I was kui-lan-pha-hue upon seeing her in that sexy lingerie last night.
主詞補語後面加介系詞片語的修飾語。
