Every day felt the same—green grass, warm wind, and silent sheep. Lio became bored.
“I wonder what would happen,” he thought, “if I shouted ‘Wolf!’ just once.”
So he stood tall and cried out, “Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is chasing the sheep!”
The villagers dropped their tools and ran to help. But when they arrived, there was no wolf—only Lio laughing.
“That was fun,” he chuckled.
But the next day, he did it again. “Wolf! Wolf!” he shouted.
Again, the villagers ran. Again, there was no wolf.
On the third day, as the sun began to set, a real wolf crept from the forest. It growled and lunged toward the sheep.
Lio jumped up in fear. “Wolf! Wolf! Please help!”
But this time, no one came.
The next morning, the villagers found Lio sitting sadly by the fence. Several sheep had run off.
“I’m sorry,” Lio said quietly. “No one believed me because I lied.”
The village elder nodded. “Words are like seeds. If you plant lies, trust won’t grow.”
From that day on, Lio became the most honest boy in the village.
