賴清德13日當選中華民國總統，而他屬於民進黨內新潮流派系，新潮流辦公室今稍早發出新聞稿表示，和總統當選人賴清德討論過後，一致同意：總統不但是國家元首，身負帶領政府、主持國政的重任，在黨內更是團結的象徵。基於對總統職位的尊重，賴清德不再是新潮流成員。
