The Academic 樂團簡介:

The Academic 是一支來自愛爾蘭的獨立搖滾樂團，由四個人組成，分別是 Craig Fitzgerald (主唱)、Dean Gavin (鼓手)，以及兄弟檔 Matthew Murtagh (吉他) 和 Stephen Murtagh (貝斯)。他們的首張專輯名稱是Tales from the Backseat，於2018年發行，並登上愛爾蘭專輯榜 (Irish Albums Chart) 第一名，也在 Choice Music Prize 的年度歌曲項目被提名。他們的第二張專輯 Sitting Pretty 發行於2023年，再次登上愛爾蘭專輯榜第一名。

"Not Your Summer" 收錄於迷你專輯 Community Spirit，同張專輯還有另一首歌曲 "Kids (Don't End Up Like Me)"。

Not Your Summer 的曲風非常符合夏日搖滾，一開始在YouTube Music 上聽到時就覺得非常好聽，雖然是以夏日作為主題，但是歌詞卻充斥青少年的憂鬱感，而不是夏天的陽光、正向和積極，可能也是因為創作於疫情時間，獨處、隔離的感覺會讓人想要「遠離自己」一下。

對於很多人來說，歌詞或許也很容易引起共鳴，經歷落敗感、不順心或被現實綁架，然後以「不需要道歉」的理直氣壯、小小的自私和放縱來面對，在現實中我們不見得能這麼自我中心，但是透過歌曲卻說出某些人的心聲。聽完這首歌後，即便今夏或甚至今年不如意，也都無所謂了，你可以小小的放縱或釋放一下，做一下自己!
