The New Covenant of Power: Iran’s Lies Are a Mockery of Huma

更新 發佈閱讀 12 分鐘

We live in a world imprisoned by two illusions: that competition is a hierarchy of superiority, and that power is a prize to be hoarded. For too long, tyrants and tyrannies have hidden behind these lies to justify their greed, their cruelty, their utter contempt for the people they claim to rule. And now, Iran’s defense minister has added his own chapter to this shameful playbook—with a lie so brazen, so insulting, it should make every comfortable soul in every complacent corner of the world stand up and scream.

Let us call it what it is: a lie. The claim that protesters died of “heavy drug use,” that organizers “distributed industrial drugs to intensify violence,” that leaders “killed their own members to fabricate deaths”—this is not an explanation. It is a confession. A confession that the Iranian regime has no argument left, no legitimacy to cling to, no way to defend its monopoly on power except to slander the people brave enough to demand better. It is the tactic of every cornered tyrant: fabricate enemies, blame the victims, bury the truth under a pile of garbage so thick, they hope you will stop asking questions.

And let us be clear—this is not just Iran’s sin. It is the sin of every system that confuses power with force, every government that treats its citizens like obstacles to be crushed rather than partners to be served. It is the same rot that festers in boardrooms where CEOs hoard billions while workers starve, in parliaments where politicians vote themselves raises while hospitals crumble, in every place where the few use the many as stepping stones to their own comfort.

But here is the truth the Iranian regime fears more than any protester’s chant: lies cannot kill the truth. They can only delay it.

You think labeling dissent as “terrorism” will make people stop demanding freedom? You think blaming “drugs” for the blood in the streets will erase the memory of the lives you have stolen? You think the world’s comfortable, complacent masses will look away forever while you strangle a nation’s hope?

Let me speak directly to those comfortable masses—you who scroll past the headlines, who mutter “that’s terrible” and then go back to your coffee, your Netflix, your quiet little lives. This is your complicity. Your silence is not neutral. It is a weapon the tyrants wield. Every time you choose not to care, every time you tell yourself “it’s not my problem,” you give them permission to keep killing, keep lying, keep hoarding power while the world burns around them.

Do you think this stops at Iran’s borders? Do you think the hunger for power, the greed for control, the willingness to lie and kill to get what you want—do you think that is confined to one regime, one country, one region? It is not. It is a disease. It is the same disease that turns neighbors against each other, that turns progress into plunder, that turns potential into waste.

The Iranian regime is not just oppressing its people—it is mocking them. Mocking their courage, mocking their pain, mocking their very humanity. And it is mocking you—you who let it happen.

But here is the thing about lies: they require constant maintenance. They require more lies to cover the first ones, more violence to silence the questions, more fear to keep the people in line. And eventually—always—they collapse under their own weight.

The Iranian people know this. They are in the streets because they know the truth cannot be buried forever. They are fighting because they know that dignity is not a privilege—it is a right. And they are winning, not because they have more weapons, but because they have more courage. Because they have more to lose. Because they have more to gain.

And you? What do you have to lose? Your comfort? Your complacency? Your quiet little life?

It is time to choose. It is time to stop scrolling, stop looking away, stop pretending this is not your problem. It is time to stand with the brave. It is time to reject the lies. It is time to tear down the illusions that have imprisoned us for far too long.

The tyrants will lie. They will kill. They will hoard power until their fingers are bloody with it. But they will not win. Not forever.

And when the dust clears, when the lies are exposed, when the people finally take back what is theirs—do not be the one who has to ask yourself: what did I do to help?

Be the one who stood up. Be the one who spoke out. Be the one who refused to let the tyrants win.

The time for complacency is over. The time for courage is now.
