I’ve been using the entry‑level China Airlines Business Titanium Card for years. I originally got it because it offered a decent credit limit, which made it easier to cover business‑trip expenses upfront. The mileage accumulation was just a nice bonus—maybe one day I’d redeem enough for a ticket.
Recently, a credit card specialist called and told me I was eligible to upgrade to the Infinite Card. He quickly ran through a list of “benefits”:
- Two complimentary airport transfers per year
- Slightly faster mileage accumulation
- Access to overseas lounges
- Two years of China Airlines Gold Card membership
None of these had anything to do with my actual needs. Was he just reading from a script? Most of my spending is for business trips. I fly China Airlines often enough that maintaining Gold Card membership is already easy. And once you’re Gold, you can use the lounges anyway.
After he finished his pitch, I simply said, “But it comes with an annual fee.” Sure, the two airport transfers might offset it on paper—but for anyone living in central or southern Taiwan, the high‑speed rail is still faster and safer than racing down the highway.
In the end, he just sent me a link via text message. I thought there might be some special offer, but it was just the standard application page.
These days, everyone works hard and looks for small savings wherever they can. If you’re going to promote an upgrade, at least make it something that actually fits people’s needs—something practical.
I will be so happy to have your comment here
