Dear Lorraine & Ray
According to our tradition, we'll eat Gua Bao today. Because it is the last 16th in Dec. of the lunar calendar. "Gua" sounds like "cut" in Taiwanese, which symbolizes we cut all misfortunate things off for this year. Then we'll welcome fortunate things for the next year.
The pork is the most important ingredient in a Gua Bao, so I got up early to buy meat, soy sauce, and some ingredients at a traditional market. Then cooked the pork chop step by step. Now I finished cooking, typing a letter to you. I can smell fragrant soy sauce, herbs, and spices in the air. I think I did a good job.
Here are some photos.
Green onion, garlic, and ginger
Add all ingredients into the pot. Simmer until it is cooked.
