“Working abroad has always been on my life’s bucket list.”
Farag, who comes from India, shared that this wish became a reality through LITEON’s LIGHT SEEKER Internship Program. Through the program, he not only fulfilled his dream but also met friends from different countries and broadened his understanding of AI.

Three Reasons to Recommend the LITEON LIGHT SEEKER All-English Summer Internship Program?
What makes LIGHT SEEKER so highly recommended? As a program alumnus, Farag sums it up in three key points.
First, Fully English-Taught Environment. The program is conducted entirely in English. It provides the perfect environment for students who want to improve their English skills. For international students who may not be fluent in Chinese, it is an excellent opportunity to experience Taiwanese corporate culture without worrying about language barriers.

Second, Pre-offer Opportunities.
Most interns hope to gain early exposure to real corporate work—and ideally secure a full-time role afterward. LIGHT SEEKER offers numerous pre-offer opportunities. Farag received a pre-offer within one month after completing his internship, allowing him to seamlessly transition from the internship program into a full-time position.
Third, Friendly and Supportive Colleagues
Everyone at LITEON was incredibly supportive. They constantly reminded Farag that he could discuss any challenges with them. During the internship, he needed to return to National Tsing Hua University, and his supervisors immediately approved his leave!
One of the funniest moments happened on his first day. He traveled from Hsinchu to Taipei, left early, but went to the wrong location and ended up arriving very late. Thinking he was doomed, he was relieved when HR smiled and said, “It’s okay—these things happen.” That warmth marked the smooth beginning of his internship journey.

Fun Yet Challenging: Cross-Generational & Cross-Cultural Collaboration
The two-month internship was very different from what Farag had imagined.
“In some internships, you just go to work and might not even know who your fellow interns are. But at LITEON, it starts with a three-day, two-night ‘Light Exploration Camp’!”
This allowed him to quickly bond with his teammates and created a relaxed, positive atmosphere for the rest of the internship.
His team was diverse: alongside Farag from India, there were Taiwanese students, overseas-returned ABCs, and an Indonesian teammate. While he didn’t notice major cultural differences, he did observe differences in working styles shaped by Eastern and Western education systems. The biggest contrast, however, was life stage. Some interns were 19-year-old freshmen returning to school after summer break, while Farag was about to graduate from his master’s program and eager to begin full-time work—especially with hopes of eventually obtaining permanent residency. As a result, he was especially focused and committed.
“I was actually one of the older LIGHT SEEKER interns—almost a generation apart from the youngest teammate! So beyond work skills, I also learned how to collaborate across different age groups and handle various small but important interpersonal matters,” he said.
From Internship to Full-Time—Easier Than You Think
Farag emphasized how different internships are from school:
“In school, the learning curve is like a straight line—from start to finish. During an internship, you’re guided, but you also deal directly with clients. The learning curve looks more like an ECG—one day you’re overwhelmed, the next day things calm down, and unexpected situations pop up anytime. But if the ECG is moving, that means you’re truly alive!”

One challenge during his internship was being assigned to Kaohsiung to better understand departmental operations. The company arranged housing and regularly checked in to ensure he was adjusting well. However, since his teammates were all in northern Taiwan—and he was the team leader—he had to coordinate and assign tasks remotely, which became another valuable layer of training.
Thanks to his strong performance, Farag secured his pre-offer within a month after the internship ended. (His family was so excited they even printed out his offer letter as a keepsake!) His individual project was extended into his full-time role.
During the internship, he completed two automation projects: quotation forms and order form automation. Additionally, he developed an automated system to track customer inventory and remind procurement teams when restocking was needed. “This used to require eight hours of manual work per week. Now it only takes 40 minutes—so they love me,” Faragi joked.
Transitioning from intern to full-time employee felt seamless. He remained with the same team and supervisor, relocating from Kaohsiung back to Hsinchu. For Farag, life is now perfectly balanced—and one major dream on his bucket list has come true at LITEON.
