This Wednesday, I got an interview invitation. That is a position work as Administration Staff. I was so happy that I promised the meeting immediately and without any survey. Because they provide a good salary. It's about 30,000 dollars per month. That is what I want. After the invitation, I thought I should do some research on this company, so I searched for the name on Google. At first, I found it a little weird ... but I couldn't say it has any illegal issues. It is a consultant company(顧問公司), and its clients include the machine industry(機械業), rubber industry(橡膠業), and recycling industry(回收業), they provide these traditional industries increase brand visibility(曝光率) on the internet or social media. In their professional way would be called "SEO" and "SEM". *SEO: Search Engine Optimization
*SEM: Search Engine Marketing So far, it sounds normal, right? Until I found they have their own podcast, and I chose part of them to listen to. Yeah, they talked about something professional, but also emphasize how excellent they are. Just like... NU Skin, do you know NU Skin? A kind of pyramid scheme /ˈpɪr.ə.mɪd ˌskiːm/.
It doesn't mean they would ask you to buy some products from their company, but they always have beautiful slogans, like "If you join our company, your life will become high-class", "Making money is important, but working happy is more important." They are so enthusiastic and over positive, I agree most people like positive attitudes, but they are too positive to let me have a suspicion. And I told my husband this story, he also searched for the company on Google.
We could find some candidates sharing their interview experience, but most had a bad experience.
But the interesting thing is when someone posts something bad with the company, there would be another one saying something good to whitewash(V.) the defect. My husband advised me to refuse the interview, but I have too desired the salary to ignore every danger possible to happen. So I insisted to accept the meeting. Yesterday, was the meeting day. Before I went to the company, a rainstorm came, and the news shows the serious area where is on the company.
I thought: "Oh, it is a sign! Even god wants to stop me go to the interview!" So I picked up the phone and canceled the interview. And I lost a chance to have a job.
When I felt down and didn't know where is the new chance for me, I searched for the company again, I found some employees who has left, and they shared that the boss of the company had worked in a pyramid scheme. They had to use their own time to share what they learned from their job every Saturday, of course, with no pay. If you don't know what can be shared, you can share your life with other colleagues. Why~~~ I don't know if is that true. But I'm sure I don't want to attend any meeting without paying.
So, let us keep searching the new job~~
