Joni Mitchell是加拿大傳奇音樂人，我最知道他的歌就是訴求環境意識的 Big Yellow Taxi。農藥DDT問世後，雖然能有效提升產量，卻也造成「寂靜的春天」，卡森（Rachel Carson）甚至為此寫了一本經典的書《寂靜的春天》（Silent Spring）。Big Yellow Taxi 也與DDT有關，Joni Mitchell 原唱，Amy Grant、Counting Crows 也唱過。
Joni Mitchell 分享她創作靈感：
「第一次去夏威夷時，我是搭計程車到飯店。第二天早上起來，我拉開窗簾，看到遠處美麗的青色山脈，從窗戶往下看到的卻是綿延不絕的停車場，這景象讓炫目的美景蒙上一層陰影......使我心碎。」（資料來源：維基百科）
