Today I want to share what I learned from my English lesson. First, I want to introduce my English teacher, Mr. Sean. He is a positive and optimistic person who often uses funny expressions to explain difficult content. Thanks to him, some boring and hard-to-understand topics were turned into simple and fun explanations. We learned about "The 8 Dimensions of Wellness." Next, I will explain a few of them and how you will change when you strive to use them correctly .
The first dimension I will introduce is —— the emotional wellness : Having good emotional wellness means that you can control your emotions and behavior and can cope with challenges in life, even though it might be a little difficult. Moreover, when facing stress, you are also more resilient. Here are some ways to maintain or improve emotional wellness: 1. Keep an optimistic attitude, which means you should stay positive. 2. Find healthy ways to deal with stress, such as listening to music. 3. Talk to people you trust and tell them your thoughts. I believe they will support you. 4. Take time to do what you love and what makes you happy. For me, it's playing basketball.
The second dimension I will introduce to you is the environmental wellness : Speaking of environmental wellness, I think everyone knows it is related to our surroundings. But you might wonder, "How will it benefit me?" Don’t worry, let me explain. First, we need to know what environmental wellness is. Environmental wellness refers to interactions with nature and your personal environment, such as school or home. These environments should affect your emotions and overall well-being. Before talking about the benefits, you need to know how to improve environmental wellness. After improving environmental wellness, you will be able to relax and recharge better, such as finding a comfortable place to recharge yourself after school. Here are some ways to improve environmental wellness: 1. Raise awareness of your surroundings. 2. Create a cozy home, so you can relax and have a good time. 3. Find a place where you feel safe.
The third dimension I will explain is the physical wellness : Physical wellness is achieved through healthy eating habits, regular exercise, and good sleep quality. Paying attention to your physical wellness can also have a positive impact on your mental health. Here are some ways to improve physical wellness: 1. Eat nutritious and healthy food, and throw away junk food. 2. Exercise every day. 4 to 5 times a week is more appropriate. 3. Have at least 7 hours of quality sleep every night.
The last dimension I want to share is the social wellness : Social wellness encourages us to be part of a community and maintain a healthy support network. Spending time with friends and getting social support can help you feel connected and have a sense of belonging. Therefore, it is very important to find friends who share the same interests with you. Spending time with your family and friends can also improve your social wellness.
Conclusionly taking care of your wellbeing is so much more than paying attention to your physical health . It’s about finding balance and setting goals across all aspects of your life. By improving emotional, environmental, physical, and social wellness, you can create a healthier, happier version of yourself. So, which dimension of wellness is your strongest? Let me know in the comments! 😉
