概要
本文討論113年學測翻譯題。
翻譯題目通常會呼應年度重要大事【如 113年 (2024)，呼應總統大選，出選舉題。】考生宜時刻關心「重要新聞時事，」並注意能否用「高中生7,000字」範圍內的用字，嘗試寫出呼應時事的語句。
高中階段的翻譯力求：
一、直觀
二、大致表達語意
三、沒有，或盡量減少，文法錯誤
筆者提倡「字換字」(word for word)的翻譯法，避免因為追求聽起來自然的中文語序，而畫蛇添足，露出被扣分的瑕疵。
另外，本文提供幾種他人翻譯的成果，並附上出處，僅供練習用的參考。
題目1
1. 每逢選舉季節，總會看到政治人物造訪各地著名廟宇。
字眼、片語、用法
將文句拆成「可以兌換」的字詞，按照「詞頻」由前至後，如下：
1. 每逢+選舉季節，總會看到+政治人物+造訪+各地著名廟宇。
「每逢」： “Every . . .,” “[During] every . . .”
「選舉」：election
「季節」： season
「選舉季節」（視為詞組）：the election season 【對應 “season,” 加 the】

「總會看到」（虛主詞）： “It is common to see (that) . . .”

「除了」： Besides/Aside from/Apart from/In addition to [PP: P+NP, P+V-ing] 【介系詞+動詞分詞(v-ing)】
「祈求」： pray for→ praying for [P+NP]
「好的」： good
「選舉結果」：election results,
「他們【政治人物】」：they
「也」：also
「希望」：hope (to) [to +V]
「展現……尊重」： show respect to

113 學年度學科能力測驗英文考科非選擇題評分原則[PDF]
結論
翻譯力求「直觀」、「通暢。」
「字換字」是優先策略。
注意拼字、語詞變化【如複數名詞+s】，以及時態變化。
避免文法錯誤，在原意不變的情況下，可以改變句式。
用熟悉的句構，寫出意義大致相近的語句。
