1. They were nearly impossible to get rid of.
   他們幾乎無法擺脫。
2. It had a cheap synthesized voice.
   它發出廉價的合成聲音。
3. The robot whirred and a small video screen unfurled into where its head might have been.
   機器人發出嗡嗡聲，一個小視頻屏幕展開到它的頭部應該所在的位置。
4. I didn't want a young hotshot like you competing with me, so I spread rumor that you were impossible to work with.
   我不想讓像你這樣的年輕新秀與我競爭，所以我散播謠言說你很難合作。
5. I've felt bad ever since and I'd like to apologize for doing that.
   自那以後我一直感到內疚，想為這件事道歉。
6. I'd say things worked out just fine.
   我可以說事情發展得正好。
7. The robot chimed. “Winston Sinclair, do you accept the apology?”
   機器人響應道：“溫斯頓·辛克萊，您接受這個道歉嗎？”
8. He had wanted that job so badly back then.
   他當時非常想要那份工作。
9. I scratched a hover-bike with my car door yesterday.
   我昨天用車門刮到了懸浮摩托車。
10. The robot was quiet while an LED on its front blinked, then went solid red. “Insufficient value.”
    機器人安靜地待著，前面的LED燈閃爍，然後變成穩定的紅色。“價值不足。”
11. A moment from Winston's past emerged in his mind.
    溫斯頓過去的一個瞬間在他腦海中浮現。
12. The robot collected itself, unplugged, and moved to the door.
    機器人整理好自己，拔掉插頭，走向門口。
13. While Rachel waved goodbye to the robot, Winston watched it go down the path, down the driveway, and down the street until it disappeared into the night.
    當瑞秋向機器人揮手告別時，溫斯頓看著它沿著小路、車道和街道走去，直到消失在夜色中。
14. He stood on the porch a few minutes more, and then went inside.
    他在門廊上站了幾分鐘，然後走了進去。

怎樣應用？

我覺得在以上幾句句子裏，我比較推介大家學習一下第４，第８句（其他都也好用請自己試試看~）：

• 第４句“impossible to work with”的意思是很難合作。雖然用到impossible這個字，可是並不是說不可能，而是非常非常的難，幾乎不可能的程度。在日常生活的口語對話中，也可以用這說法哦～例如：
• • You are so unreasonable. It is impossible to talk to you. （你這麼不講道理，真的很難跟你討論。）
  • With the overwhelming workload, it is impossible to meet this deadline.（面對排山倒海的工作，真的很難在這個限期前完成。）
• 至於第８句，"wanted that job so badly"不是想要甚麼差的當西！因為這裡用的不是形容詞Bad（差），而是副詞Badly（非常地）。所以是非常想要的意思，又一個學起來馬上能用的英語說法~
• • I miss you very badly! （我非常想念你！）
  • He was injuried badly in the accident. （他在意外裡受了重傷。）
