Atomic Habit - Chapter 11/12/13/14

    • We are so focused on figuring out the best approach that we never get around to taking action.
    • Why you slip into motion rather than taking action: you want to delay failure.
    • If you want to master a habit, the key is to start with repetition, not perfection.
    • Habits form based on frequency, not time.
    • The truth is, our real motivation is to be lazy and to do what is convenient.
    • People will naturally gravitate toward the option that requires the least amount of work.
    • We are motivated to do what is easy.
    • The less energy a habit requires, the more likely it is to occur.
    • The less friction you face, the easier it is for your stronger self to emerge.
    • Rather than trying to overcome the friction in your life, you reduct it!
    • Your opotions are constrained by what's available. They are shaped by the first choice.
    • A habit must be established before it can be improved.
    • You have to standardize before you can optimize.
    • You're taking the smallest action that confirms the type of person you want to be.
