  • The more pride you have in a particular aspect of your identity, the more motivated you will be to maintain the habits associated with it.
  • Your behavior are usually a reflection of your indentity. What you do is an indication of the type of person you believe that you're either consciously or nonconsciously.
  • act in alignment with the belief
  • When your behavior and you indentity are fully aligned, you are no longer pursuing behavior change. You are simply acting like the type of person you alrady believe yourself to be.
  • Progress requires unlearning. Becoming the best version of yourself requires you to continuously edit your beliefs, and to upgrade and expand your indentity.
  • Your habits are how you embody your identity.
  • The more you repeat a behavior, the more you reinforce the indentity associated with that behavior.
  • Your habits contribute most of the evidence that shapes your identity. In this way, the process of building habits is actually the process of becoming yourself.
  • Each habit not only gets results but also teaches you something far more important: to trust yourself.
  • Ultimately, your habits matter because they help you become the type of person you wish to be. They are channel through which you develop your deepest beliefs yourself. Quite literally, you become your habits.

fight tooth and nail: to try very hard to get something you want
have a handle on something: to understand something or be able to deal with something 開始理解(學會)了某件事
By coming in early and staying late she started to get a handle on the problem.
It seemed like she had a good handle on the situation.

▪ set in stone a. no longer changeable/to be very difficult or impossible to change
▪ life hacks: something that makes life easier 生活訣竅/小幫手
▪ mount up: to gradually increase in number or amount
It isn't a good idea to let bills mount up.
