Xiao Ming: "I think the hardest thing in the world is changing others." Xiao Mei: "I know."
Xiao Ming: "Why do you know?"
Xiao Mei: "Because I was the one who got changed."
Xiao Ming: "How come?"
Xiao Mei: "You know my English is terrible. I wanted to improve, but I couldn't understand in school, so I went to a large cram school in the first semester of seventh grade (about 70 students in a class)."
Xiao Ming: "I know. Then you said it didn't work out, and you switched to a smaller cram school in the second semester (about 13 students)."
Xiao Mei: "But it still didn't work. The small class did reviews and allowed occasional questions, but the pace was too fast. I couldn't keep up."
Xiao Ming: "So, how did you change?"
Xiao Mei: "Alright, let me tell you how my English got better. First, my family paid 2600 for one-on-one tutoring."
Xiao Ming: "And then?"
Xiao Mei: "Then, I earned the privilege of being scolded for two hours every week."
Xiao Ming: "Shocking!"
Xiao Mei: "Yes! You heard it right. Congratulations to me for being able to receive constructive criticism, of course, helpful criticism."
Xiao Ming: "Seems like to change, you need a big heart. At least you have to be able to accept a lot of constructive criticism."
Xiao Mei: "Exactly. You need to invest a lot of money, and your heart needs to be strong, but it still doesn't guarantee you'll get stronger."
Xiao Mei: "Luckily, the teacher I found is good. The criticism is quite objective. I'm willing to accept my mistakes and quickly correct my study habits and attitude."
I know if I'm not willing to change, I won't change.
