其實這句話的出處，是改寫自聖經裡的句子：
So the last will be first, and the first will be last. (Matthew 20:16) / 那些後來的將會領先，那些先來的將會落後 (馬太福音 20:16)
聖經裡的這段話描述著天堂的法則：並不是只要搶先了，就會一輩子都走在前頭；就算一開始落後，也有可能在未來的某一天，遙遙領先著大家。天堂的法則是凡人無法用線性思考去理解的。
黑帝斯城的法則，正好把聖經裡的話反過來說，就是這麼現實、簡單、資本主義。
