Before Christmas, my junior high school classmates discussed a project with me about doing something special to our neighbors. Though all of us were busy with school work, we still spared some time for the event. Since we were in the orchestra in junior high school, we wanted to found a band to perform music. Thus, we decided to perform in the nursing home to soothe those elderly people. Before that, we chose some songs, including ” A Whole New World”, “Let It Go” and some Taiwanese folk rhymes. What’s more interesting, “Let It Go” was adapted by one of my classmates, which was more suitable for our band. We practiced every two week to sharpen our play skills because we hoped the elderly would like our performance. Finally, at Christmas, we gathered at the Nursing home, playing the songs in order. I was very happy to see the elderly smiling and swaying along with the music. I also heard some humbling the song when we were playing Taiwanese fork rhymes. At last, they all clapped their hands for us.
I’m grateful to have this choice to play in the nursing home with my friends. It not only connected us but also gave hope to the elderly. This is because their family seldom went to see them. So they often lived with loneliness. By bring them joy and hope, we have done something meaninful. After all, we sometimes forget to think about that we can help. If all of us can do a little, they would live a better life.
