If someone wants to succeed, hard work isn't enough; they also need intelligence and wisdom to avoid unnecessary detours.
In this picture, you can see a man in a suit standing on a pile of messy wooden ladders, trying to climb over a high wall to see what's going on on the other side.
When I first saw the picture, I couldn't tell if the man was genuinely stupid or just determined to be a hardworking fool. Or, maybe he had already tried setting the ladder upright and leaning it against the wall, but since there was no one around and nothing to keep them steady for a safe climb, he was left with no choice but to pile them up like that.In my opinion, the man has many ladders he needs to solve his problem, but he doesn't use them the right way. Ironically, he goes for the most inefficient, old-fashioned way to deal with it, like using brute force instead of smart thinking. Yeah ~ having tools or resources is not enough. The man has to use them wisely. He works hard, but not smart. The result is less efficient and possibly even dangerous, as he could end up falling off that pile of ladders.
We often hear that hard work is the key to success. And yes, hard work matters. But is it always the most efficient path? The truth is, success doesn't come from effort alone. To truly get ahead and avoid unnecessary detours, we need something more: intelligence, strategy, and a little bit of wisdom. It's better to head in the right direction and then work hard, rather than just working hard blindly.
