Curator of Perception & Narrative Forms
Aven Nocturne is the English-language persona of author and conceptual artist 临止 (Línzhǐ).
Together, they form an evolving dialogue between languages, selves, and ways of perception —a fluid constellation where each work is less a “story” than a curated field of experience.
Under the name 临止, each creation germinates in Chinese,
rooted in the fertile soil of Chinese culture and language. The name itself — meaning to arrive and to abide — reflects a philosophy of presence:
to dwell within the act of creation until it begins to generate its own consciousness.
Through Aven Nocturne, these works are not merely translated but re-articulated —
transposed into new architectures of perception. In this interlingual space, something is always lost,
but something else — an unforeseen resonance — emerges in return.
Aven’s work traverses the boundaries between literature, philosophy, and installation.
Each piece functions as a psychic apparatus — a structure of language and silence,
orchestrating states of perception. What begins as narrative dissolves into a choreography of awareness,
inviting readers not to interpret, but to inhabit.
They describe their practice as a form of existential curation —
an ongoing exploration of how consciousness can be sculpted,
how emotion can become a climate,
and how reading itself can turn into a performative act.
Under the LinZhi Studio imprint,
Aven continues to craft works that merge poetic intensity with philosophical inquiry —
fiction that observes, disassembles, and reconfigures the nature of being.
Drawing from the continuum of Chinese culture.
