Organic Farming" is one of the farms in Cinsbu, run by a young man named Omi, who is not yet 30. After graduating from university, he and his wife returned to their hometown, gradually getting the hang of farming while starting a family. There are so many stories to tell from the fields. Omi mentioned that sustainable land use is a crucial lesson passed down by the elders. "Honestly, organic farming doesn’t really make more money... but we do it for the land. This is what Mama Ataw taught us—let the land sustainable."Although he humbly claims not to be a good speaker, Omi stood tall among the lush cabbages, speaking confidently to a group of professors and research assistants about the practicalities and insights of local farming.Mama Ataw and Yata Pagung were also nearby, ready to add details. “The key is, this land belongs to our people (not owned by outsiders or consortia). It must be our people’s land; that’s the most important thing,” Ataw emphasized. At an altitude of 1600 meters, a light rain began to fall, making the cabbage leaves glisten. This season in Cinsbu is always misty, but the Atayal people's connection to their land remains crystal clear.
